GeWiS Renewpower has installed a 117 kWp solar PV rooftop power plant on the metal sheet rooftop of the warehouse of one of the leading manufacturer of polymers in India. The plant is spread over an area of 1,562 sq. mtrs.
The company is committed to protecting the planet and has taken steps to reduce its environmental impact, through zero-waste manufacturing and optimal energy usage using solar power. The installed solar power plant is helping in reducing about 4 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
The solar power plant was installed to meet the enormous energy demand required for manufacturing. The plant is generating about 1.68 lakh units of energy annually and is taking up about 68.07% of the factory’s total energy requirement.
GeWiS has installed the solar power plant on the facility’s rooftop with half-cut PERC technology polycrystalline modules from a Tier -1 Manufacturer; Multi MPPT inverters, and BOS from reputed manufactures.
The warehouse is used for storing the adhesives. Therefore, a leakproof rooftop was necessary in order to avoid any damage by water seepage through the roof. Hence the module mounting structures were pasted to avoid penetration with minimum penetration and waterproofing for mounting safety lines, walkways, water lines etc.
GeWiS has also installed the required safety equipment like safety lines, walkways. The walkways provide easy access to solar panels for cleaning and maintenance. Module cleaning system comprising of UPVC pipe grid has been placed by the GeWiS
The solar plant is installed under the CAPEX scheme. In this, GeWiS has provided turnkey installation of the entire solar power system and assets are handed over to the company.
